THE HISTORY
The roots of Día de los Muertos go back some 3,000 years. Death is seen as an integral, ever-present part of life. On Día de los Muertos, the border between the spirit world and the real world dissolve.
The souls of the dead awaken and return to the living world to feast, drink, dance and play music with their loved ones. In turn, the living family members treat the deceased as honored guests in their celebrations.
THE CELEBRATION
Most companies today are struggling to balance major holiday celebrations while simultaneously trying to keep everyone safe, happy & healthy of course!
Since the pandemic started Margarita & OCP have made the safety of their employees top priority. They quickly adapted to all of the required changes and even created some changes on their own to enhance safety. They obviously succeeded in finding ways to build this brand new environment where employees feel safe but still productive…and a place where they can have a little bit of fun every once in a while too! This year they decided to let people show off their artistic side.
THE CONTEST
Each employee was given a simple piece of white paper with a skeleton on it. Then the artist/employee…being armed with true imagination, a whole lot of creativity and a few colorful supplies…created something really great!!
